I feel like this blog is SUPER boring to anyone besides my mom...so I am hoping to either spice it up with some exciting posts or delete it permanetly....I am open to opinions ?!?! I don't want this to be a blog where all I do is rant and rave and I feel like thats all it has been. Either way, Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their holiday season!!

Givin' a little thanks!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I figured I would write a little post about all the MANY things I am thankful for

  1. My Momma and Daddy-Isnt enough words to describe how thankful I am for them!!
  2. My extended family-grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles- Love them all probably more than I could ever explain!
  3. My Baby Savannah- 75 pounds of pure black lab love!!
  4. My Friends- The kind of friends that will be on the top of the mountain with you celebrating life or in the deep valley encouraging you when you need it the most!!
  5. My relationship with God and how it changes and becomes stronger everyday
  6. My church- Although I don't go as often as I should but whenever I do go I still feel at home
  7. All the precious kids I babysit for- I started babysitting when I was 13...I am now 23 I still stay in contact with most of the families I babysat for then!
  8. My Job- There are 8 of us working there, we are honestly like one big happy dysfunctional family
  9. Music- With the exception of when I'm in class or sleeping, I am generally always listening to music
  10. My Mom's decorations for every holiday in the calendar year-well most holidays, I look forward to decorating for each and every holiday!
  11. Running- more specifically my new found love for it, it gets rid of stress and has helped me lose weight which has in turn boasted my confidence
  12. Sunday afternoons- a day of relaxation and preparation for the week ahead
  13. Clean Laundry- I actually love doing laundry washing/drying/folding I find it relaxing, and you can ask any family I babysit for I will fold their laundry for them if the kids are sleeping
  14. New Magazines- nothing better than opening the mailbox and seeing a new mag!
  15. Books- read some good ones this year and hope to read even more in the coming year!
  16. Good health- Another year of good health for me and my family, always grateful for that
  17. Compliments- giving and receiving
  18. Smiling- I love to smile, I love when people smile at me, a sense of comfort is present when someone smiles at you and you smile back at them!
  19. Good Conversation- I have been told I could carry on a conversation with a brick wall, thats probably true, I think we gain knowledge by talking to people from all walks of life, everyone has a story and you never know if something someone says could change your life
  20. Quotes- love to read them and share them, a great quote can brighten your day, give you hope and encouragement when you need it
  21. Lessons- oddly enough some of my worst experiences have turned out to be great life lessons
  22. unexpected text messages from friends
  23. pictures-I love to take them and look at them! Old photos and new ones, Photos are the only thing that never changes
  24. Change- Alot of people dont like change and honestly I kind of like it, if I never changed I wouldnt be half the person I am now
  25. Nature- I can just walk outside onto my back porch or the front porch and see all the beauty that exists in nature!
  26. Football season : )- its almost over, my gamecocks havent had a terrible season but not totally stellar- win or lose I have and always will be a Gamecock Fan, season ends next saturday unless we go to a bowl, then we wait for another 8 months to start it all over! Love the games, our fans, our players and coaches and all the excitement that goes along with the unconditional love a fan has for their team!
  27. Last but certaintly not least is my blog- my little spot to post my thoughts on whatever, I appreciate all those who read my blog and comment or even if you don't! Thanks for reading.
Hope all of you and your familes have/had a wonderful Thanksgiving! As we look ahead to the holiday season and coming year, may we all take a little time each day to appreciate all that we have! Love to you all!

May I suggest...

Hello! This afternoon I went with two friends to go see The Blindside! May I just say that is definately going on my top ten list of favorite movies of all time! It was so good. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone since some of yall might want to see it, but I will tell you it was def. inspirational. It is based on a true story and I have been told I should also read the book. Which I plan to do as soon as I gonna get my self over to Barnes and Noble. It is totally worth the 9 dollars to go see it. I will be going to see it again sometime this week, and I will be purchasing it for my collection upon release. And may I just say Tim Mcgraw is not bad at the whole acting gig. Love his music and now I love his movies. Of course Sandra Bullock was amazing as well. All around phenomenal film. A must see!!! Hope everyone has a fabulous week. Safe travels to everyone who is visting family in other states/cities.

One Hundred Seventy Five!

Since childhood the Methodist church has played an important role in my life! My family attends Buncombe Street United Methodist! This church means more to me than words could ever explain! I wouldnt consider my self particulary eloquent so I'm not gonnna try and use words I can't spell but I grew up at this church and hope to raise my children there one day! My parents have instilled in me the importance in going to church, giving back to your church and particpating in ANY and All activities at the church. Perhaps thats why from elementary through high school I was involved in almost every activity the had to offer to the youth! Anywho, my beloved Buncombe Street, celebrated it's 175 birthday today! 175 years, WOW, that's just amazing. In a world where things can come and go with the wind, I would say thats pretty impressive. The church was full today and over 450 families attended the luncheon afterward! It was amazing to see the young and old there to support the church they love so much! 2009 has been a crazy year for me and sometimes I tend to lean towards the negative but today sitting in the church, singing and worshipping among family and friends, It occured to me....just how lucky I am and how much I am thankful for what I have. Life, while it isnt always perfect, is wonderous. You could feel the positive energy radiating through the smiles on peoples faces throughout the service and luncheon!! They sang a song during the service that really touched me and I would like to share it with ya'll!! Hope you can get the feeling of the power of words just by reading it!
             A Simple Song of Thanks
For all the simple things,I sing a simple song of thanks
For all the joy they bring, I sing a simple song of thanks

The sun up in the sky,the sweet grass that grows
the morning birds that fly,the evening star that glows
For all these simple things, and all the joy they bring,
I sing a simple song of thanks

Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices, with hearts and hands and voices

For God's great gift of grace, I sing a simple song of thanks
A melody of praise, I sing a simple song of thanks
For summer days of blue and snowy winter nights
for autumn's changing hue and springtime colors bright,
for all these simple things, and all the joy they bring,
I sing a simple song of thanks!

Beautiful isnt it!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Let's just call that one a moral victory!

The Gamecocks played the Florida Gators this past weekend and although we lost by 10 points, I still think we played one heck of a game! We only lost to the # 1 team in the nation by 10 points...I consider that pretty impressive considering we just suffered losses to Tennessse and Arkansas the two weeks prior! Now in most people's eyes the only thing that matters at the end of game is the numbers on the scoreboard....but my beloved gamecocks played the game with all their hearts and bodies so I'm gonna call this one for them a moral victory!! Now I hope to not offend any Gator fans by saying this but Urban Meyer is a trickster and I fully think that he encourages his players to play dirty!!! Guess that's football for ya....SEC style!

One for the books.....

My clock reads 9:22 pm, which means it has been 30 plus hours since I finished my first 5K and I am still on top of the world!! My only goal was to finish this race since it was my first one ever...I finished in 45 minutes!! I can't even put into words how I felt when I crossed that finish-line yesterday!! This is HUGE for me since a year ago I would have never done this...I literally couldnt even ponder the thought of exercise, now I love it! Next up is the next 5K in January! Besides the race, I spent halloween with friends, I'm just gonna pretend that USC didnt lose to tennesse and georgia didnt lose to florida! Terrible day for football but otherwise great halloween!! Hope everyone else had a great one!! Another busy week coming up, Hope everyone has a great one!!

Little of this, Little of that!

Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Worked all weekend but it was still great. My Gamecocks won and that's always good and since I am a daddy's girl and he went to clemson I will say it was exciting to see clemson beat miami! However come November 28th when we play clemson I will be fully outfitted in garnet and black!! Hope we can pull a stunner on the other team in orange, Tennessee, this weekend!! Although Halloween is on Saturday I fully intend to park myself, along with some friends, in front of the TV to watch the South Carolina game! Sadly I will not be dressing up this year. This week is crazy with school and work. Saturday I will run my first 5K. I am super nervous! However I am super excited since this is the first time I have ever done anything like this. I hope to continue to run and build up to several different races in 2010. I honestly cant believe October is almost over! However the next 2 months are full of exciting things! I updated my ipod last week and found myself listening to xmas music! Oddly enough I enjoyed it although it was a little premature. Guess thats about it for now! Promising some exciting posts in the future! Hope everyone has a great week!

P.S. I have TONS of sorority tshirts left over from college and I saw an ad to make them into a quilt! Sounds like a neat idea, but when I googled it the kits where between 200-400 dollars...yikes! Anyone heard of this idea? any suggestions/thoughts? Thanks!!

Drivin' along Singin' a song

I babysit on Mondays and Wednesday from 2:30-5:30! I used to nanny for these 2 children 3 summers ago and I have just stayed close to the family since then! Love the two kids B( the boy) is 7 and L( the girl) is 4. Anyway I pick them up from school and take them home till their parents get off work! Since being their nanny I have always known how much these two kiddos LOVE country music and I too love some good ole country music. Usually in the car on the way home the fall asleep cause they are both so exhausted from school but yesterday when I picked them up I had my music a little larder than usual and as I was driving I noticed them singing along! So for the remainder of the car ride to their house WE all sang along to the likes of Kenny Chesney, George Strait and Taylor Swift. I love how children can make anything a good time! They both have Billy Currington's People are crazy song memorized...L loves to sing " God is great, Beer is good, and people are crazy!" Love it!

It's always a party!

Remember when you were a child and everything seemed like something new and exciting...
Recently I heard someone say that their young child called everything a party for instance the child was going to the dentist so therefore it was a dentist party....how wonderful to think of everything as a party i.e. a potentially good time. With that thought I figure this week I will be celebrating
  • Lack of funds party
  • A math test party
  • Busy at work party
See things are already looking up! I re-read my post from the other day and it seems all I could be last week was a negative nelly! Life is good every day! Hope everyone has a fabulous week! My beloved Gamecocks won this weekend and moved up to # 22 in the polls! We are now 5 and 1...now thats something worth celebrating! Happy Monday!

Why ?!?

This week has been crazy...and these are just some thoughts I'm pondering today!
  • Why at the age of 23, do my wisdom teeth decide to suddenly appear...causing me lots of pain!
  • Why is it soooo expensive to go to the dentist ? 282 dollars for xrays and cleaning...really?
  • Driving school for 8 hours on Saturday to get a speeding ticket dropped
  • Fall for Greenville this weekend...of course I wont be attending do to driving school/ work/ lack of funds
  • Tuition and Credit card bill creeping up on me both due next week
  • This whole trying to save money thing just aint workin out for me..and I meant to say aint!
  • Bought the new issue of Glamour because I thought my subscription didnt kick in till November, came home checked the mail what do you think was in the mail box....BRAND NEW ISSUE OF GLAMOUR!
Two words that come to mind : Stressed and Overwhelmed!
Now I know all of this seems very unimportant in the big scheme of things but wow it's alot to take in!
I'm trying to be postive as I know this too shall pass! Hope everyone has a great weekend!! This weather is wonderful!!

Random thoughts ?!?

I received this email a couple of weeks ago! Some of these are so true. Enjoy!
Random Thoughts

I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can’t wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that’s not only better, but also more directly involves me.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

That's enough, Nickelback.

I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no Internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

There is a great need for sarcasm font.

Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the f was going on when I first saw it.

I think everyone has a movie that they love so much, it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it.

The other night I hit a new low at an open bar. I had already hopped on highway blackout when, inevitably I had to find a bathroom. Eventually I decided it was probably on the other side of the bar so I tried to walk over there, but ran into a guy coming the other way. We played that, Both go left, Both go right game to no avail, so I finally put out my hand to guide myself past and that’s is when I realized, yup, that’s a mirror I just tried to walk through. And the guy on the other side is me. Even cats can recognize their own image.

How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text.

A recent study has shown that playing beer pong contributes to the spread of mono and the flu. Yeah, if you suck at it.

Was learning cursive really necessary?

LOL has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron
test is absolutely petrifying.

My brother's Municipal League baseball team is named the Stepdads. Seeing as none of the guys on the team are actual stepdads, I inquired about the name. He explained, "Cuz we beat you, and you hate us." Classy, bro.

Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod
and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

I love the sense of camaraderie when a n entire line of cars teams up to prevent a d*ck from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!

Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm....Goonies"

What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died..

I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.

Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

I would like to officially coin the phrase 'catching the swine flu' to be used as a way to make fun of a friend for hooking up with an overweight woman. Example: "Dave caught the swine flu last night."

I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

Bad decisions make good stories

Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!

Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?

If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.

Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem....

You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren’t doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

"Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever.

I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren’t watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'

While watching the Olympics, I find myself cheering equally for China and USA . No, I am not of Chinese descent, but I am fairly certain that when Chinese athletes don’t win, they are executed.

I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damnit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

When I meet a new girl, I'm terrified of mentioning something she hasn't already told me but that I have learned from some light Internet stalking.

I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.

Why is a school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...

As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is..

It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
I think that if, years down the road when I’m trying to have a kid, I find out that I’m sterile, most of my disappointment will stem from the fact that I was not aware of my condition in college.

Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.

Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, hitting the G-spot, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I’d bet my ass everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time...

A little boy asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to that?

It really pisses me off when I want to read a story on CNN.com and the link takes me to a video instead of text.

I wonder if cops ever get pissed off at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit.

I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay

What's in a name ?!?

I'm sure some folks are wondering what the title of my blog means. Since childhood I have always heard my sweet grandmother say " Well I declare" in her wonderful Charleston accent. I always love to hear her say that hence why I named my blog that!

So this it...

Well for a while now I have wanted to start a blog. Since I enjoy reading others I thought I should just start my own! This will be just another place for me to voice my thoughts and observations! I know you all are thrilled! Read on for the good, the bad and the ugly. You will laugh, cry on second thought I hate to see people cry...my blog should not bring tears...unless of course they are tears of joy!
